Best Blender for Grinding Spices and Rice Powder in Bangladesh (2026)

Short answer: to grind dry spices and rice at home in Bangladesh, choose a mixer grinder with a separate dry-grinding jar, a motor of 1200 W or more, and overload or overheat protection. Why the dry jar matters more than the wattage

Dry grinding works best in a short, wide stainless-steel jar where a small amount of spice stays close to the blades. In a tall juice jar the same spice gets thrown up the walls and never meets the blades again, so the motor runs longer, heats up and still leaves you with coarse grains. That is why we look at the grinder jar first and the wattage second.

Wattage still counts: hard, dry items such as whole dried chilli, turmeric root pieces or raw rice need a strong motor to break down before the motor warms up. Every model below has 1200 W or more.

Our first choices — compared

Read "peak" and "rated" carefully. Walton lists its Megatron motors as peak power; Vision lists rated power. Peak is the short maximum, rated is what the motor holds in normal running — so a 1700 W peak motor and a 1600 W rated motor are closer than the numbers suggest. Compare the jars and the warranty too, not only the wattage.

Dried red chilli (শুকনো মরিচ)

Remove the stalks and make sure the chilli is fully dry — slightly damp chilli turns into a paste and sticks to the jar. Use the dry jar, fill it no more than half, and grind in short pulses rather than one long run. Let the jar cool before opening: chilli dust is sharp on the eyes and nose.

Turmeric (হলুদ)

Dried turmeric pieces are very hard. Break large pieces first, grind in small batches in the dry jar, and expect yellow staining on the jar — it fades with washing and does not harm the steel. If your model's manual says not to grind whole turmeric root, follow the manual.

Coriander and cumin (ধনিয়া, জিরা)

These seeds are easier. A light dry-roast before grinding gives a finer, more fragrant powder; let the seeds cool completely before they go into the jar.

Rice powder (চালের গুঁড়া) for pitha

For soft pitha flour, soak the rice, drain and spread it until it is just dry to the touch, then grind in small batches in the dry jar and sieve. Grinding hard, raw rice in large amounts puts the most strain on any motor: keep batches small, run for short spells and rest the motor between them. The Walton Megatron listing names rice among the jobs for its grinder jar; for other models, check the manual before grinding raw grains.

Wet masala — onion, garlic, ginger (বাটা মসলা)

Use the chutney or mincer jar, not the dry jar, and add a little water. Wet grinding is easier on the motor than dry grinding, so any model in this list handles it.

What we will not claim

Before you grind — steps that protect the motor

1. Use the right jar — the dry/grinder jar for spices and rice, the chutney or mincer jar for wet masala.
2. Fill half at most — small batches grind finer and keep the motor cool.
3. Lock the lid and the jar — on Walton Megatron models the lid lock must click before the motor starts.
4. Pulse, do not hold — run 30–60 seconds, stop, shake the jar, run again.
5. Rest the motor — after a few runs, let it cool for a couple of minutes. If overload or overheat protection cuts the power, wait for it to cool before restarting.
6. Clean the dry jar dry first — brush out the powder, then wash and dry fully before the next dry batch.
