The Vision Induction Cooker VSN-MagnetoCook 2000W does not heat from below the way a gas burner does. A magnetic field heats the base of the pot itself, so the heat is generated inside the cookware rather than in the air around it, and the glass surrounding the pot stays comparatively cool. That is why water and milk come to a boil noticeably faster on induction.

Rated power is 2000W and it peaks at 2200W. Soft touch control with a 4 digit LED display gives you 8 power levels, so you can step from the low simmer that milk needs up to the hard heat used for frying, instead of guessing at a knob position. Inside are a high quality coil with a Germany Siemens IGBT and a good quality PCB.

The safety side is well covered. The cooker shuts off automatically if there is no pot on the plate or the pot has boiled dry, there is high/low heating and voltage protection, and a residual heat warning tells you the plate is still hot after cooking. With mains voltage as unsteady as it is here, the over heat and voltage safety protection system earns its place.

Important Usage Instructions

• Use only induction-compatible cookware with a flat magnetic base; if a magnet does not stick to the bottom of the pot, the cooker will not heat it.
• Centre the pot on the crystal plate and never run the cooker with an empty pot on it.
• Keep the air vents at the side and bottom clear, and leave a hand's gap from the wall so the fan can breathe.
• Plug into a socket that can carry the full 2000W load on its own rather than sharing a multi-plug with other heavy appliances.
• Let the plate cool, then wipe the glass with a soft damp cloth; do not use a knife, steel scrubber or scouring powder on it, and never pour water over the unit.
