The Vision Hand Blender VIS-HB-001 (Smart) differs from a jar blender in one important way: you hold it and lower it straight into the pot. Hot dal, soup or boiled vegetables can be blended where they are, with no pouring into a separate jar, blending, and pouring back — and far less risk of splashing hot liquid.

The motor is rated at 550 W and uses a pure copper coil. Copper sheds heat well, so the motor stays comparatively cool through a longer run. Overheat protection is fitted as well: if the motor does get too hot it cuts out by itself, which protects it from burning out.

The multipurpose jar supplied with this 550W hand blender handles small quantities — baby food, a spice paste, a little fruit juice. In a large jar blender a small amount never reaches the blade properly; here that problem disappears.

It runs on 220-240V, 50-60Hz. One thing to be clear about when choosing any Vision Hand Blender: a hand blender blends and purées. Whipping cream or beating eggs for a cake is the job of a hand mixer, which is a different tool.

Important Usage Instructions

• Switch off the stove and make sure the blade is fully submerged before starting, so hot liquid does not splash.
• Run it in short spells with rest breaks for thick mixtures instead of one long run.
• Unplug before attaching or removing any part, and keep fingers away from the blade or beaters.
• Never immerse the motor unit in water — wipe it with a damp cloth only.
• Wash the detachable parts right after use so food does not dry onto them.
