The Vision Manual Straight Classic Pressure Cooker 5.5L (model MSC550) is a 5.5 litre manual pressure cooker that sits directly on a stove burner. Because it needs no electricity, cooking carries on normally during a power cut — which is the main practical reason many kitchens keep a manual cooker alongside an electric one.

This Vision Manual Pressure Cooker uses a Straight Body: the walls run straight from base to rim instead of tapering. That shape makes the full internal volume usable, gives room to stir rice, dal or meat like a normal pot, and makes seating and removing the lid straightforward.

The Vision MSC550 is built from Food-Grade Aluminum. Aluminium takes up heat quickly and distributes it evenly across the base, so dishes come to pressure sooner and less gas is burned getting there. Cooking under pressure also preserves more of the vitamins and nutrients that long open-pan boiling drives off, and it softens tougher cuts of meat in far less time.

Important Usage Instructions

• Never fill the cooker beyond two-thirds of its capacity, and always add enough water or liquid before sealing.
• Check that the lid, gasket and safety valve are seated correctly before putting the cooker on the flame.
• Lower the flame once pressure builds, and count cooking time from the first steady whistle.
• Let the pressure drop completely before opening the lid; never force the lid or cool it under running water while pressurised.
• Wash the gasket and vent after each use, and dry the aluminium body properly to keep it in good condition.
